Stephen Williams × Daniela Loizart
Interdependence explores the idea that “it takes a village.” The work reflects community, culture, connection, and the everyday rituals that bring people together.
Stephen Williams created the abstract foundation of the painting, establishing its texture, color, and atmosphere. Daniela Loizart then introduced the figurative imagery, building a communal scene around coffee, dominoes, conversation, and shared space.
The hands surrounding the table suggest different people contributing to a collective experience. Coffee and dominoes become symbols of gathering, familiarity, storytelling, and tradition. The work ultimately asks us to consider how much of who we become is shaped by the people, communities, and cultures surrounding us.
